2. Purpose of the Website

This website provides general information about:

  • The Whole Perspective;
  • Psychological therapy;
  • Psychological assessments;
  • Therapeutic approaches;
  • Professional supervision and mentoring;
  • Telehealth services;
  • Practice locations, processes and fees;
  • External referral options; and
  • General psychological and wellbeing topics.

The information on this website is general in nature. It is not intended to constitute:

  • Individual psychological advice;
  • Medical advice;
  • A psychological or medical diagnosis;
  • A treatment recommendation;
  • Crisis intervention;
  • Emergency support; or
  • A substitute for assessment by an appropriately qualified health practitioner.

You should not use information on this website to diagnose or treat a psychological, medical or health condition.

Decisions about psychological treatment should be made in consultation with an appropriately qualified practitioner who understands your individual circumstances.

3. These Terms Do Not Govern Clinical Services

These Terms govern your use of the website.

They do not replace or form part of any separate:

  • Client service agreement;
  • Informed consent form;
  • Adolescent consent arrangement;
  • Telehealth consent;
  • Psychological assessment agreement;
  • Fees and cancellation policy;
  • Professional supervision agreement; or
  • Privacy collection notice.

Where you become a client, separate terms and consent arrangements will apply to the psychological services provided.

If there is any inconsistency between these Website Terms and a signed client service agreement, the client service agreement will apply to the psychological services.

4. No Psychologist-Client Relationship

Accessing this website, reading its content, submitting an enquiry or contacting The Whole Perspective does not, by itself, establish a psychologist-client relationship.

A psychologist-client relationship begins only after:

  • The Whole Perspective has determined that the requested service is clinically and professionally appropriate;
  • The Whole Perspective has agreed to provide the service;
  • An appointment or service arrangement has been confirmed;
  • Required intake and consent documentation has been completed; and
  • The applicable fees and service terms have been accepted.

Submitting an enquiry does not guarantee that The Whole Perspective will accept you as a client, provide a particular service or offer an appointment within a particular timeframe.

5. Emergency and Crisis Support

This website, its enquiry forms, email address, SMS service, WhatsApp account and practice telephone number are not emergency or crisis-response services.

These communication channels may not be monitored continuously and should not be used where immediate assistance is required.

If you or another person is in immediate danger, call 000 or attend the nearest hospital emergency department.

Crisis-support services in Australia include:

  • Lifeline: 13 11 14
  • Suicide Call Back Service: 1300 659 467
  • Kids Helpline: 1800 55 1800
  • Beyond Blue: 1300 22 4636

These services are independent of The Whole Perspective. We do not control their availability, services, privacy practices or suitability for a particular person.

6. Enquiries and Electronic Communications

You may contact The Whole Perspective through:

  • The website enquiry form;
  • Email;
  • Telephone;
  • SMS; or
  • An agreed WhatsApp account for permitted administrative communication.

You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide is accurate, current and not misleading.

Website enquiries are sent to Dr Matea Doroc’s Microsoft Outlook email account and may also be stored within the Duda website platform.

Website enquiries are used only to respond to the enquiry, assess whether further contact may be appropriate and arrange appointments or services where applicable.

The Whole Perspective does not use information submitted through the website enquiry form for:

  • Newsletters;
  • Email marketing;
  • Remarketing;
  • Advertising-audience creation; or
  • Unrelated promotional communication.

You should not submit urgent concerns, extensive clinical histories or highly sensitive health information through the general website enquiry form.

Electronic communications involve privacy and security risks. No email, SMS, online form or messaging platform can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Further information is available in our Privacy Policy.

7. Services and Client Eligibility

The Whole Perspective currently provides psychological services to:

  • Adults; and
  • Adolescents aged 14 years and over.

The Whole Perspective does not currently provide services to children under 14 years of age.

Available services may include:

  • Individual psychological therapy;
  • Psychological assessments;
  • Clinically appropriate reports;
  • Professional supervision and mentoring;
  • In-person consultations; and
  • Telehealth consultations.

Services are currently provided to clients located in Australia.

In-person appointments are available at the Derrimut and Essendon North practice locations.

Telehealth services may be available to clients located within Australia.

Services are not currently offered to clients located in the United Kingdom or other overseas jurisdictions.

Service availability is subject to:

  • Clinical suitability;
  • Practitioner availability;
  • The client’s location;
  • Professional scope of practice;
  • Registration and insurance requirements;
  • Appropriate consent;
  • Risk and safety considerations;
  • Referral requirements; and
  • Any applicable legal or funding requirements.

The Whole Perspective may recommend another practitioner, service or emergency provider where the requested service is outside the practice’s scope, unavailable or not considered appropriate.

8. Adolescent Clients

The Whole Perspective accepts adolescent clients aged 14 years and over.

For clients aged 14 or 15, consent from a parent or legal guardian will ordinarily be required.

Parental or guardian consent may not be required where Dr Matea Doroc determines that the adolescent has sufficient maturity, intelligence and understanding to provide informed consent independently.

This assessment may consider whether the adolescent understands:

  • The nature and purpose of psychological services;
  • The proposed treatment or assessment;
  • The potential benefits and risks;
  • The available alternatives;
  • The limits of confidentiality; and
  • The consequences of accepting or declining the service.

Clients aged 16 or 17 will generally be permitted to consent to their own psychological services where they have the capacity to understand and consent to the service.

The involvement of a parent or guardian may still be appropriate where:

  • The adolescent agrees;
  • Their involvement is clinically appropriate;
  • Their involvement is necessary for safety;
  • The adolescent does not have capacity to make a particular decision; or
  • Their involvement is authorised or required by law.

A parent or guardian does not automatically have unrestricted access to an adolescent client’s clinical information.

Requests for access will be considered under applicable privacy and health-records legislation and may take account of:

  • The adolescent’s age, maturity and capacity;
  • The adolescent’s wishes;
  • The parent or guardian’s legal authority;
  • Relevant court or parenting orders;
  • The purpose of the request;
  • Confidentiality obligations; and
  • Any risk to the adolescent’s health or safety.

Detailed consent, confidentiality and parental-access arrangements will be addressed separately before services commence.

9. Appointments

An appointment is not confirmed until it has been accepted and confirmed by The Whole Perspective.

Appointment confirmations and reminders may be sent through Halaxy by email or SMS.

You are responsible for:

  • Providing correct contact information;
  • Reviewing appointment confirmations;
  • Attending at the confirmed date and time;
  • Advising the practice of relevant changes;
  • Providing reasonable notice of cancellations; and
  • Complying with the cancellation terms communicated before services commence.

Appointment availability shown or discussed through the website is subject to change.

10. Fees, Payments and Cancellations

Applicable fees, payment requirements, cancellation periods and non-attendance charges will be communicated before or when services commence.

These arrangements may be included in a separate:

  • Service agreement;
  • Informed consent form;
  • Appointment confirmation;
  • Fees and cancellation policy; or
  • Professional supervision agreement.

Clients are generally required to pay the full consultation fee.

Payment may be made by:

  • Credit or debit card; or
  • Bank transfer.

Credit and debit card payments may be processed through Halaxy using third-party payment gateways such as Braintree or Stripe.

Card details are tokenised and are not ordinarily visible to or directly stored by The Whole Perspective.

You are responsible for reviewing and accepting the applicable fees and cancellation terms before proceeding with a service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, statutory right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian  Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.

11. Medicare Rebates

Where a client is eligible for a Medicare rebate, the client is generally required to pay the full consultation fee.

The Whole Perspective may process the applicable Medicare rebate through Halaxy at the time of payment.

Eligibility for a Medicare rebate may depend on:

  • A valid referral;
  • A valid Mental Health Treatment Plan or other eligible referral arrangement;
  • The number of services already claimed;
  • Medicare requirements; and
  • The type of service provided.

The Whole Perspective does not guarantee that Medicare will approve or pay a rebate.

Clients are responsible for ensuring that their referral and Medicare details are valid and current.

12. Private Insurance and Third-Party Funding

Clients are responsible for arranging their own rebate, reimbursement or payment from:

  • Private health insurers;
  • WorkSafe Victoria;
  • The Transport Accident Commission;
  • The National Disability Insurance Scheme;
  • Employee Assistance Programs;
  • Victims of Crime funding arrangements;
  • Employers; and
  • Other third-party funding providers.

The client must generally pay the full fee directly to The Whole Perspective.

The Whole Perspective may provide invoices, receipts or other reasonable documentation to support a client’s claim.

Eligibility, reimbursement amounts, annual limits and claim conditions are determined by the relevant third party.

The Whole Perspective does not guarantee that a third party will approve or pay a claim.

13. Telehealth Services

Telehealth services are currently available only to clients located in Australia.

Telehealth consultations are preferably conducted through Zoom.

A telephone consultation may be used where technical problems prevent the use of Zoom and a telephone consultation is considered appropriate.

Before or during a telehealth consultation, a client may be required to confirm:

  • Their identity;
  • Their physical location;
  • Their contact telephone number;
  • An emergency contact;
  • Their access to a private environment; and
  • Relevant local emergency arrangements.

Telehealth depends on internet, telecommunications and third-party technology. Interruptions, delays, connection failures and security limitations may occur.

The Whole Perspective is not responsible for technical failures outside its reasonable control. Where a consultation is materially affected, reasonable arrangements will be discussed with the client.

Telehealth may not be suitable for every person or every situation. The Whole Perspective may recommend an in-person service, emergency assistance or another provider where telehealth is not clinically or professionally appropriate.

Telehealth consultations are not recorded by The Whole Perspective.

With the client’s prior consent, consultation audio may be processed temporarily through NovoNote to produce a draft transcript, draft clinical note or draft summary.

Consultation audio is not intentionally retained after transcription. Draft transcripts and draft notes are destroyed when no longer required. The final reviewed clinical case note is stored in Halaxy.

Further information is provided in the Privacy Policy and relevant consent documentation.

14. Psychological Assessments

Psychological assessments may involve the collection and processing of personal and health information through NovoPsych.

Assessment services may include:

  • Administration of assessment measures;
  • Scoring;
  • Clinical interpretation;
  • Discussion of results; and
  • Preparation of an appropriate report or clinical record.

Assessment results must be interpreted in the context of the individual’s circumstances and should not be treated as a diagnosis or professional opinion without appropriate clinical interpretation.

Access to assessment information, reports and records is governed by the relevant service agreement, professional obligations and applicable privacy and health-records legislation.

15. External Referral Providers

The Whole Perspective may provide information about independent health, wellbeing or support providers.

These providers are independent of The Whole Perspective.

The Whole Perspective does not:

  • Operate their services;
  • Manage their appointments;
  • Collect payments on their behalf;
  • Control their professional decisions;
  • Guarantee their availability or suitability; or
  • Routinely exchange client information with them.

A referral or website link does not constitute a guarantee or endorsement of a particular outcome.

If you choose to contact an external provider, that provider’s own service terms, privacy policy, fees and professional obligations will apply.

Personal information will not be provided to an external referral provider unless you request or consent to the disclosure or the disclosure is otherwise authorised or required by law.

16. Professional Qualifications and Registration

Professional qualifications, memberships and registration details are provided for identification and informational purposes.

Dr Matea Doroc is registered as a psychologist in Australia through Ahpra and also holds registration with the Health and Care Professions Council in the United Kingdom.

Holding HCPC registration does not mean that The Whole Perspective currently provides services to clients located in the United Kingdom.

Services are currently limited to clients located in Australia.

Registration status may be independently verified through the relevant professional regulator.

17. Accuracy of Website Information

The Whole Perspective takes reasonable care when preparing and maintaining website content.

However, information may:

  • Change over time;
  • Become outdated;

  • Not apply to an individual’s circumstances.

  • The website will be free from technical errors.

We may update, remove or change website content without prior notice.

18. Psychological Information and Treatment Outcomes

Any treatment or assessment recommendation will depend on an individual professional assessment.
